IBM

Laurence is an IBM Master Inventor, solution designer and IBM advisor on technical strategy to clients in the Telecom, Media and Entertainment industries. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Science from RMIT University and a Bachelor of Arts from Swinburne University.

Laurence has extensive international experience in complex solution designs and implementations including mobile service delivery platforms that enable Communications Service Providers and Consumer Electronics manufacturers to retail third party digital goods such as music and games, and wireless and mobile field workforce capability, outlined in an IDC case study. He was lead telecommunications architect for IBM in Asia Pacific and subsequently worked in a global role aligned with software strategy for the telecommunications sector.

He has filed 20 patents across a wide range of areas including Mobile Payments, Internet of Things, User Interfaces, Vehicle Telematics and Media and he has published a series of articles on Internet of Things, Machine to Machine, Software Defined Networks and Edge Computing. Laurence was a member of the IBM Smarter Cities Challenge for the City of Sendai in Japan.

Laurence and his wife Meredith live in Melbourne, Australia and together are learning how to raise three daughters.
