Peter is currently Principal Policy Officer, Telecommunications with the Digital Economy and Technology Directorate, Department of Further Education, Employment, Science and Technology, Government of South Australia. In this new role, he is involved in providing high level strategic advice, to whole of government and whole of State strategy and policy development for digital economy and technology, broadband and telecommunications related matters. Peter is also involved in the development and implementation of projects and policies related to digital productivity and participation and industry engagement matters. He also represents the South Australian government on Commonwealth, States and Territories joint committees related to broadband and telecommunications matters. Previously, Peter was involved with the successful implementation of the Broadband SA strategy, which, together with the $7 million Broadband Development Fund, delivered quality broadband services to regional and metropolitan users in South Australia during 2004-2011. This included the Adelaide Metropolitan Broadband Blackspots Project which was the recipient of the 2011 Premier’s Award for excellence in the public sector. Peter is a member of the Telecommunications Society of Australia. He has over 20 years’ experience in telecommunications engineering and strategic planning, and has a BE (Electrical and Electronic) from Adelaide University, and an MBA from University of South Australia.
