The Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET) South Australia & Northern Territory (SA&NT) Local Network is staging the 2014 IET Rex Johns Student Presentation Prize which is awarded to an individual for excellence in the presentation of his or her final year project.

All students no older than 26 years of age undertaking the final year of an IET accredited degree in South Australia or Northern Territory are eligible to be nominated by their university to compete for the prizes. Each university can nominate only two candidates from their eligible courses to compete for the prizes and the chance to represent South Australia and Northern Territory in the National Final. The purpose of the competition is to give young engineers the opportunity to enhance their presentation skills, conveying complex technical information to mixed technical and non-technical audiences. For judging purposes, the emphasis is on presentation skills, rather than technical content.

Each individual student presenter will be given 15 minutes for his or her presentation, and a maximum of 5 minutes allowed for questions. There will be a marking panel of three judges. Results will be announced at the end of the evening. The winner will receive a cash prize, a year?s free IET membership and the opportunity to present at the National Final in April 2015.
