Survivable Communications and Autonomous Delivery Service (SCADS) is an autonomous swarming framework that supports ‘data-ferrying’ to allow the exchange of user information when end-to-end connectivity cannot be achieved, including urban environments, where line of sight cannot be achieved, or in denied RF environments where an adversary seeks to prevent RF communications.
This presentation will cover the underlying research into multiple data-ferrying behaviours operating in difficult environments, as well as results from a recent successful real-world trial providing data-ferrying between disconnected ground nodes using multiple UAVs.
The Somerton Man was found dead on Somerton Beach, South Australia in 1948. More than 70 years later, no one has been able to confirm his identity.
The NBN has changed many times in complexity and composition, but it is now running at high speed and set for completion in the next two years. What does it take to get this mammoth task done?
Andrew Kempter, Sales Director of Redflow, will lead a site visit of Redflow's facilities which will include a presentation on the technical characteristics of the battery design and performance, and a tour of the battery deployment lab on site.
Each year TelSoc hosts the Henry Sutton Oration in Melbourne to commemorate the distinguished Victorian scientist, engineer and inventor from Ballarat, Henry Sutton - who is scarcely known, but had a string of accomplishments and innovations in many areas.
We are pleased to have as the Orator distinguished innovator ...
The Australian Driverless Vehicle Initiative (ADVI) is the peak industry advisory body that services the wide ecosystem of automated vehicle activities across Australia and New Zealand. Noel O'Callaghan, will be speaking on Driverless Vehicles and how they will impact our roads and will include details on what's been happening nationally over the last 12 months and where the driverless space is going, plus impacts on society, regulators etc.
By 2050, the UK, Germany and several other countries will only allow new electric passenger cars to be registered. Toyota will phase out petrol and diesel cars by 2050. If all cars are electric vehicles, the electric-power demand will double.
Visit to the University of Adelaide, John R. Prescott Environmental Luminescence Laboratory (PELL) in ?The Braggs? building. Luminescence induced by ionising radiation can be used for the quantification of both ambient radiation and total absorbed radiation dose. Such "environmental dosimetry" has unique applications to Defence, National Security and Public Health.
Students from our three universities present their final year projects whilst competing in the IET Rex Jones Student Presentation Prize. IEEE Student Subject prizes will also be presented at this meeting.
