Dr. Pan Zhengang (IEEE Senior Member), principal staff of Green Communication Research Center (GCRC) of China Mobile Research Institute (CMRI), is now leading a team working on the key technologies of next generation (5G) wireless communication systems, including new network architecture/protocol framework, large scale antenna system, new air interface design in high frequency, etc. Dr. Pan received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Hong Kong University. After graduation, he worked for NTT DoCoMo Beijing Communication Labs and ASTRI in Hong Kong working on wireless communication (WiFi, WiMax, LTE), mobile digital TV (T-DMB, DVB-T/H, CMMB), and wireline broadband access (HomePlug, MoCA) for both system/algorithm design and terminal SoC chip implementation. He has published more than 40 papers in top journals and international conferences, and filed 45 patents (20 granted). He has expertise in many technical fields including time/frequency/sampling synchronization technology for single-carrier/multi-carrier(OFDM/A) based systems, channel estimation, forward error correction coding, multiple antennas systems (MIMO), space-time processing/coding, and cross layer optimization.
