The Editorial comments on Australia’s National Artificial Intelligence Plan, which was published in December 2025. AI techniques are used in several of the papers in this issue.
Our historical reprint looks back at the situation of broadband services and networks in Australia in 2007 with a tutorial paper by Peter Darling.
There are two papers in the Digital Economy & Society section – one on the role of fin-tech in attracting foreign direct investments; and one on using AI techniques for predicting sales in SMEs. In the Telecommunications section, we publish three papers – on the stickiness of social media platforms; on supporting public Wi-Fi programs; and on using AI methods to detect anomalies in operational radio access networks.
We include two Industry Case Studies, one on process mining in customer-facing processes; and one on text mining applications in mobile banking.
As always, we welcome any comments you may have on the Journal.
