Annual General Meeting outcomes

We had a well-attended AGM on 26 November 2025.  Thank you to those who attended.

The following people were elected to the TelSoc Board:

The Board has been empowered by the AGM to appoint from its own members a Secretary and a Vice President.  The latter will be readily achieved, but we may struggle with finding a member who wants to be Secretary.  If any other member of TelSoc who is not a Board member can help in that role, please email me at jim.holmes@telsoc.org.

Webinars in 2026

The newly elected Board will shortly commence planning ahead for our (mostly) lunchtime webinars in 2026. 

These are an important part of promoting discussion about important issues for the telecommunications and digital economy sectors.  We covered a wide diversity of topics in 2025 - see the Events page of the website (https://telsoc.org/events) - including a broad historical perspective on industry development (by Professor William Webb), the Australian telecommunications industry's issues slate at the time of the federal election (by Luke Coleman), various aspects of satellite futures (two webinars, by the Australian Space Industry Association and Omnispace), and consumer perspectives (two webinars, by Carol Bennett and Kristi Sparrow).  That's quite a range.

Please let me know via email (jim.holmes@telsoc.org) about the issues that you would like the webinars to cover in 2026.  You may also have particular speakers in mind.
