TelSoc Event: Reminder to Register for Carol Bennett Lunchtime Event: From payphones to LEOsats: where to next for the USO and consumers? – to be held on Wednesday 21 May 2025 commencing at 12.30 PM

Reminding all members and industry colleagues, you are invited to attend this free online event.

The Universal Service Obligation has been around since the 1990s. It has had adjustments and extensions over the years, but is still fundamentally recognisable as the 1990s original. In the meantime, a lot has changed ranging from technologies that are now available to rising expectations about connectivity to high quality broadband services. This is a big topic, and Carol will assist us to understand how ACCAN approaches the issues associated with making the USO fit for purpose for today and the future. This is your chance to dive deeper on USO issues – and other consumer issues that you consider to be important.

A TelSoc presentation would be incomplete without a Q&A session, and this event is no exception. Carol will respond to all questions that time permits. We expect the event to be outstanding.

2. If you are not a current financial member, you will be invited to join. Please consider doing so. The objectives of TelSoc and benefits of joining are set out at Membership | Telsoc.

3. If you are not a financial member and do not wish to join right now, or if you are having any difficulty registering, please send your name and email contact to jim.holmes@telsoc.org [4] and he will register you manually – provided he hears from you before 4 pm on 20 May 2025.
