TelSoc AGM and Lunchtime Lecture - Telecom Infra Project (TIP)

[3]This MEMBERS ONLY event incorporates a sandwich lunch, the TelSoc's Annual General Meeting and a lecture about the Telecom Infra Project (TIP) presented by Carolyn Phiddian - GM Technology Strategy / CTO at nbn.
The AGM will commence promptly at 11.30am and needs 10% of current financial members (click-here [4] to join now) in attendance for a meeting quorum. If you can't attend please nominate your proxy (eg. a fellow member or the president / chair of the meeting). Following the AGM a sandwich lunch will be provided and from 12.30pm Carolyn will make her presentation about the Telecom Infra Project (TIP). TIP is an engineering-focused initiative driven by operators, infrastructure providers, system integrators, and other technology companies that aim to reimagine the traditional approach to building and deploying telecom network infrastructure.
Carolyn has recently attended the TIP Summit conference in California, USA. Her presentation will provide a summary of the initiatives discussed at the summit and how TIP is aiming to make a significant shift in the future of our industry. Carolyn's presentation will be followed by a professional networking opportunity over tea/coffee to complete the day's event.

Carolyn is the General Manager for Technology Strategy in the CTO group, responsible for the long range technology strategy of nbn.
Carolyn is a global expert in the creation and operation of nation-wide telecommunications networks. Carolyn has over twenty five years? experience in the telecommunications industry in Australia, the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Asia Pacific. Her career has been based on leading implementation of innovative technologies for practical business outcomes.
In nbn since 2010, Carolyn has established a number of engineering teams and functions, been the network design authority across FTTP, FTTN, Wireless and Satellite and also led network operations through a transformation to be ready for operating FTTN.
Previously Carolyn had senior management roles in Nokia developing and implementing IP based solution architectures for a wide range of clients. She started her career in Telstra culminating in being the first engineering executive for Voice on IP.
Carolyn has a Bachelor?s degree in engineering from the University of Melbourne and a Graduate Certificate in management from Monash University.
