This presentation will refute that claim, present a guided tour to some of the key concepts and technologies of IoT, explain the distinction between the Internet of Things and the Internet of Everything, look at the importance of government taking a lead role in IoT, and present some real world use cases that demonstrate real practical applications for IoT.

Stuart Corner

Stuart Corner is one of Australia's most experienced writers and commentators on telecommunications. He started his career in IT journalism in 1984 with IDG working on Computerworld Australia

Today he is the senior editor for Telecom Review Asia Pacific, a regular contributor to the Sydney Morning Herald, one of Australia?s leading daily newspapers and occasionally to a number of other publications.

He has twice been named Telecommunications Journalist of The Year by the Australian Telecommunications Users Group (ATUG), and once by the Service Providers Industry Assocation (SPAN).

In 2010 he received a Lifetime Achievement Award for his work in IT journalism and was made a Life Member of the Telecommunications Society of Australia.

For over 24 years he edited and produced a weekly (and in later years, daily) telecommunications newsletter, Exchange.
