The Rise and Fall of the Internet
Thursday, 20th June 2019
This event is fully booked or has passed.
After thirty years the Internet is showing signs of strain. The engagement of computers with communications had been heralded with such promise, but it has turned sour. Weâve seen the Internetâs powers of disruption in retail, television and newspapers. Now itâs turning on itself with dark tales of election tampering, the destructive side of social media and an unhealthy preoccupation with cyber warfare. How did the Internet embark on such a self-destructive path?
