Alex Lambert

Public Cultures Research Unit, University of Melbourne

Alex Lambert is a research fellow at the Public Cultures Research Unit, based at the University of Melbourne. Alex specialises in digital ethnography and the study of social and mobile media. He is also interested in critiquing media discourses which involve social capital, intimacy, and psychological well-being. Recently his research into the relationship between Facebook and cultural constructions of intimacy was published by Pelgrave MacMillan as a monograph entitled Intimacy and Friendship on Facebook. Currently Alex is developing cross-cultural, comparative methodologies for the study of mobile social media use.
