Professor Catherine Middleton holds the Canada Research Chair in Communication Technologies in the Information Society at the Ted Rogers School of Management at Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada. She has been studying residential broadband networks since the late 1990s, with interests in the development and use of wired and wireless infrastructures. Current projects include an ongoing investigation of the development of Australia's National Broadband Network, and a study of the development of next generation broadband networks in Canada. Professor Middleton's work has been funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and Infrastructure Canada. She is the leader of the New Media theme for the GRAND Network of Centres of Excellence project, where she also leads a project on Digital Infrastructures.
