Professor John Wilson is a respected clinical leader in the Australian health sector and champion for the application of technology to enable effective delivery of health services. He qualified BSc(Hons) with a focus on IT before completing his medical training. John is currently Head of the Cystic Fibrosis service at Alfred Health Melbourne, Chair of the College Education Committee, Royal Australian College of Physicians (RACP) and an RACP Board member.
In 2002 under his leadership, the Cystic Fibrosis Service at Alfred Health received Centre of Excellence funding from the Victorian Department of Health. This has resulted in numerous publications, continuous NHMRC and ARC funding for research and over 10 doctoral students under his successful supervision.
John has developed strong relationships across the research, clinical, health management, technology provider and government sectors. He has held positions as chair of NHMRC panels, casemix clinical committees and on editorial boards of international and national journals.
