Swinburne University of Technology

Mick Grimley is an Associate Professor of Education at Swinburne University of Technology. He commenced his appointment in April 2012. Prior to joining Swinburne, Dr Grimley taught at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand for 10 years. He was a Senior Lecturer and then Associate Professor in Education. He is a former primary school teacher and has been employed within the education sector for more than 20 years. His research interests include digital technologies and how they can be leveraged to enhance human learning and cognition. His most recent work has focused on the use of computer games and virtual worlds for education and how digital immersion affects children's learning and thinking.
