Presented by Dr Mark Gregory, RMIT University
Tuesday, 28th April 2015
The National Broadband Network (NBN) is a nation building project that will underpin Australia's telecommunications and broadband services for the next thirty years. It will provide many opportunities for national growth both socially and for participation in the global digital economy.
Mark's presentation will provide details of the technologies being used to build the NBN and discuss the opportunities for new technologies and engineering advances to enhance the NBN over time whilst reducing the rollout duration and cost. There are many challenges when embarking on a project of the magnitude of the NBN and the presentation will also cover some of the more pressing issues, including technology selection, construction and integrating legacy technologies and systems into a next generation network.
AFTER the conclusion of Mark's presentation at 1.30pm, there will be an opportunity for you to network with your industry colleagues over tea and coffee until 2.00pm.
