Australians use social media more to access news, study finds Australians are using fewer sources to access news and now prefer social media to get information. Data from the How we access news report published showed in 2023 Australians used on average 3.1 different sources of news (free-to-air TV podcasts news websites), down from 3.5 in 2022, according to the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA).

Telstra, Ericsson finish deployment of microwave link in King Island Telecommunications company Telstra and Swedish telco vendor Ericsson have completed an upgrade to King Island’s mobile network infrastructure providing connectivity and claiming what they call “a world-first” and achieving a tenfold capacity boost for the island with an over-water microwave telecommunications link with a throughput capacity of 9.8Gbps with 99.99% availability.
