TelSoc Online Event: Alex Orange, Vice President, Technology and Spectrum, Omnispace LLC
Satellite direct to device connectivity: “To MSS D2D or to IMT D2D? Is that the question?”
When: Wednesday 16 July 2025, from 12.30 to 1.30 pm AEST
TelSoc is continuing with the space theme into July, following on the very informative and interesting presentation on 4 June given by Dan Lloyd, CEO, and Isobel Haddow, Membership Executive, of the Space Industry Association of Australia.
There is a lot of interest in the progress and trials of satellite direct to device (D2D) capabilities and services. Industry online journals seem to be reporting every other day on new trials and forums in which developments and initiatives are announced.
Alex Orange is very well placed to give us a great background briefing. Alex’s broad theme will be satellite direct to device connectivity. In his presentation Alex will drill down into three sub-themes: “how did we get here?”, “where are we now?”, and “where are we going?”, and cover many dimensions of the issues involved.
As with all TelSoc lunchtime events, Alex’s presentation will be followed by a Q&A session in which TelSoc members and industry colleagues will be able to raise questions and issues – and get answers. Given Alex’s substantial and diverse experience in the industry, his presentation and the Q&A will be well worth your while.
